Forceps and ventouse
Some people require a bit of assistance in the delivery of their babies and this may come in the form of forceps or by a ventouse cup. Usually, the use of these by the doctors do the job that they are meant to and assist with the safe delivery of your baby. However sometimes they can cause complications of their own.
If the doctor pulls excessively, if they are placed incorrectly, applied with excessive pressure, or if the baby’s head is twisted in the wrong direction, the baby’s brain can be severely injured. Used incorrectly, these devices can severely damage the brain, causing bleeding and this may result in cerebral palsy.
If you have any concerns with the treatment you received during the birth of your child, then please contact our solicitors to discuss how we can help and advise you on the steps to take to make a claim for compensation.
